# Migrating Databases

Databases are owned by companies. To transfer ownership of a database to another company, use the ‘Transfer Database Ownership’ option on the [Settings](https://app.bugsplat.com/v2/database) page on the [General](https://app.bugsplat.com/v2/database) page under Database.

Make sure you are currently in the database you would like to transfer (confirm at the top of the Options page), then use the dropdown highlighted in the image below to select a company to which you wish to transfer ownership.

Note: You must be a user on databases owned by both companies for this to work. If you do not see the company for which you want to transfer ownership, then you are likely not a user on a database owned by that company. Getting access to a database owned by the desired company will fix this problem. You can view a list of a company's databases on the [Manage Database](https://app.bugsplat.com/v2/company/databases) page in Settings.

If you have any questions, please contact [support](mailto:support@bugsplat.com) and we can do help you with your database migration.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bugsplat.com/administration/account-managment/how-to-migrate-databases-between-users-and-accounts.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
